passed away on September 6, 2023, at Nye Legacy
She was preceded in death by her parents Frieda and Harvey Hartung, and is survived by her sister Beverly Hagen and many friends. Phyllis went to work at Telbasta store at age 16 and later was employed by JC Penney in Fremont Nebraska for over 40 years.
Many people who met her after her retirement commented on how they were pleased to see her, remembering how kind and helpful she was and her infectious laugh. Phyllis enjoyed traveling and playing golf. She always had a cat or two which she spoiled with great affection.
Phyllis was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hooper Nebraska. She found comfort there as she experienced God's love as well as companionship of the congregation. She enjoyed all kinds of music, and she sang in the choir for many years.
Visitation will be Friday, September 8, 2023 from 5pm to 7pm at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont. The Funeral will be 2pm Saturday September 9, 2023 at Immanuel Lutheran Church north of Winslow. Burial in the Immanuel Cemetery. Memorials to the Church.
