In November of 1975, Larry Ludvigsen opened the doors of Ludvigsen Mortuary. Located on the corner of Hancock and 23rd Streets, Larry took over the building that housed the former Johnson Furniture Store that was owned by Carl H. Johnson who was Larry's father-in-law. Over the years the mortuary has done several additions and remodels to get the present day facility.
In July of 2006 Ludvigsen Mortuary acquired the former Warne-Johnson Funeral Home in Hooper and the former Spear-Johnson Funeral Home in Scribner. We are thankful that we were invited to be part of these two wonderful communities and are grateful to the people for accepting us. We felt that these businesses should be more a reflection of the communities they serve so we changed the names to Ludvigsen's Hooper and Scribner Funeral Chapels.

What Our Families Say About Us
Ludvigsen Mortuary handled the arrangements for two dear family members in the past year, my dad and my niece. I cannot express how grateful I am for their care, compassion, and professionalism. They easily handled our many requests, working with us until the programs, services, and details were all perfect. At a time of unbelievable loss, families need a funeral home that will make them feel that everything--and everyone--is taken care of, and that's exactly how we felt on both occasions. I am so appreciative of the important service that Ludvigsen's provides to our communities. Very highly recommended.
We have just visited with Larry and Jon regarding my mothers funeral arrangements. We are so at peace with our discussion and decisions that were made. Larry explained at length all the preparations we needed to make and how to handle the legal matters. So many details to remember. We are so thankful for this experience.
I have worked with Larry and Jon over a dozen times. I am always amazed at their involvement in the community, the connection they have with their customers and their ability to remain caring and professional.
