Vivian, Shawna and I at Dr Kuo's office sincerely extend our sympathy to you and your family. We enjoyed getting to know you and Henry and visiting about HyVee coffee and your friends (and my relatives), Max and Sylvia. May God bless you with His peace.

Grandpa....I wish we could have had more time together and catch up on all the stuff we both missed in each of our lives while I was overseas in the Air Force. I'm just happy that you were able to meet your great granddaughter Alyza Rose Meyer! I remember the times watching you and everyone else playing Cribbage and then taking time to teach me and not getting frustrated when I didn't understand everything right away. We all miss you, but I know you're with each and every one of us who's lives you've been apart of through thick and thin and throughout the years. In our hearts you keep us going, in our minds and through our conversation your good deeds, your character, and your memories live on and will continue to do so throughout time. In essence, for our family, you will be immortalized by our memories and each one of us will be bringing a piece of you with us when we join you once again.

Ron Meyer, a friend and fellow board member of the American Society of Journalists & Authors, often has spoken of his dad with such pride and obvious affection. Now that I've read Hank's obituary, that remarkably long list of all he did for the community, I understand why. My condolences to Ron, Jane, and the family. Salley Shannon

Hank was one of those people you never forget. As a small child, I remember him kindly and patiently showing me how to play cribbage. As an adult, I remember playfully competing with him, and ultimately losing. I always considered Hank like another grandfather. He was a excellent cribbage player and a wonderful man. He will be missed.

Although I did not know Hank, he was a great friend of my Uncle Orlando Klintworth. He thought a lot of him. I know he has missed his daily outings to Burger King for coffee ever since Hank got sick. Lando really appreciated Hank picking him up everyday. He will miss him dearly. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.

He was the best and he will be missed. I am filled with both a silence and a quiet sadness. At the same time, my mind is filled with memories too beautiful to forget. Rest in Peace Uncle Hank.

A memory that continues to return is of a Sunday afternoon when I was maybe 8 or 9 at Uncle Hank & Aunt Viv's old house. Uncle Hank was watching golf and I couldn't understand why anyone would want to do that. Since, I took up the game and now often watch the final round on Sunday afternoon & relay that memory to those who are watching with me. I'm grateful he & Viv attended my wedding in 2007. It meant so much to me & my husband for them to share that day with us. God Bless you Uncle Hank.
