Marie was born Nov. 12, 1915 in rural Dodge County near Winslow, NE. Her parents were Amos and Nora (Lueninghoener) Sohl. Marie was one of five sisters and one brother. She attended the Sohl School on the Scribner-Herman Road through the 8th grade.

On October 11, 1935, Marie Sohl was married to Clarence W. Uhler in the Telbasta parsonage. Clarence preceded Marie in death on July 26, 2002.

She was a housewife and worked with her husband on the farm near Winslow until retiring into Hooper in 1982. They had a herd of Holstein cows, and milked for many years.

Marie especially enjoyed cooking dinner, gathering her family together every Saturday noon. She enjoyed gardening, especially raising roses and having flowers everywhere. She loved playing cards and was a member of several bridge clubs and a 500 club. She was a charter member of the Winslow Volunteer Fireman's Auxiliary. She was an active member and sang in the choir at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Winslow until it's closing, and then followed her family to Redeemer Lutheran Church of Hooper, NE.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Ron Fauss of Hooper; her 3 grandchildren, Rick Fauss, Ann Fauss, Cindy and Tom Weitzenkamp, Raymon and Shelly Fauss; 6 great grandchildren, Jon (Janelle) Weitzenkamp, Jenny (Chris) Estudillo, Amy (Justin) Cook, Lissy (John) Nicola, Ellen Fauss, Holly Fauss; 8 great great grandchildren, Nick, Joel, and Katie Weitzenkamp, Elise, Evie, and Elena Estudillo, Jackson and Lane Cook, 2 sisters, Ruth Heelan and Eunice Shepard, both of Fremont.

The funeral service will be 10 AM Monday (Nov. 30, 2009) in the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper with the Rev. Joel Schroeder officiating. The committal will follow in the Hooper Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Visitation will be in Hooper, NE in Ludvigsen's Hooper Funeral Chapel on Sunday (Nov. 29th) from 3 to 8 PM, with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 PM. Visitation will also be at the church Monday morning for an hour before the funeral.
