She was born April 14, 1918 in Sutton, Nebraska to Albert and Maria 'Frenzen' Goesch. On August 28, 1940 she was married to Clarence 'Pat' Carlson in Verona, Nebraska. Upon earning a teaching certificate from Peru State College, she taught in the Verona and Turkey Creek Schools. In 1965 the family moved to Fremont where she worked for the food service at Midland Lutheran College.

In 1969, she moved to Omaha where she attended Metropolitan Community College and then served that college as a secretary from 1973 to 1983. She moved back to Fremont in 1983 and has lived here the past 25 years.

Always active in church, she taught Bible classes until age 86, and was very active in the ladies circles in the Saronville Lutheran Church, Trinity Lutheran Church in Omaha, and in Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence 'Pat' Carlson in 1968 and 2 Sisters.

Survivors: 2 sons - Rev. Marlin and wife Joanne Carlson of Brookfield, Wisconsin
Dr. Gary and wife Sharon Carlson of Fremont
1 daughter - Darlene and husband Gary Pebley of Fremont
4 grandchildren
2 great grandchildren

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, February 29th, at 11 AM in the Salem Lutheran Church, Fremont, with Vicar Diana Kuhl officiating. A private family committal will be held in Memorial Cemetery. There is no public visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to Midland Lutheran College and to Salem Lutheran Church for its radio broadcasts.
