Marqueta was born August 4, 1921 in Randolph, Nebraska to Kenneth and Lillian 'Harrison' Boughn. She lived briefly in Randolph before moving to Fremont at a young age. She was raised in Fremont and graduated from Fremont High School in 1939. After high school Marqueta attended Midland College and worked for the Fremont Tribune. She married Harold 'Jim' 'Smokey' Stover on October 19, 1942 in Rapid City, South Dakota. Marqueta returned to Fremont while Harold finished his military service. After his return the couple made their home in Fremont. Marqueta was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fremont, and had taught Sunday school for numerous years.

Marqueta was preceded in death by her father and her mother Lillian Boughn, a son Gregory in 1992 and a sister Donnabel Boughn.
The funeral will be 11:00A.M. Monday May 12 at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Dodge County Humane Society and Alzheimer's Research. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5pm to 8pm with the family receiving friends from 5pm to 7pm at Ludvigsen Mortuary. Visitation will continue 1 hour prior to the service at the mortuary on Monday.
