Loretta was born September 20, 1926 in rural Herman, Nebraska to Louis and Hulda 'Kuhls' Bartling. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Hooper. Loretta attended and graduated from Fremont High School.

On August 27, 1947 she married Robert Hoegemeyer at St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Scribner. The couple resided in both Scribner and the family farm near Hooper, where they raised five children. They retired later in life in Hooper.

Loretta was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Hooper, serving in Ladies Aid and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.

Survivors:
2 Sons - Joel Hoegemeyer of Glenwood, IA.
Dan and wife Bonnie Hoegemeyer of Lincoln
Daughter - Lorrie Hoegemeyer of Hooper
Daughter-in-law - Connie Hoegemeyer Wacker of Lincoln
Grandchildren - Cody Hoegemeyer, Shanna Thiels, and Natasha and Josh Rose all of Lincoln
Great grandchildren - Chloe and Andrew Thiels, and Deja and Ethan Rose.
Brother - Ken and wife Ruth Bartling of Fremont
Sisters-in-law - Elveretta Sutterfield of Loveland, CO.
Valiera and husband Dennis Stockamp of Scribner

numerous nieces and nephews. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert and two sons William (Bill) and David Hoegemeyer.

The funeral will be Monday, August 11 at 10:30am at St. John's Lutheran Church, Hooper. The Rev. Carl Lehmann will officiate. Burial will follow in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Parkinson's Research and the Lutheran Women Missionary League. Visitation will be on Sunday August 10, from 2pm to 6pm with the family receiving friends from 2pm to 4pm at Ludvigsen's Hooper Funeral Chapel.
