He was born January 20, 1956 in Landers, Wyoming to Denton and Caryl 'Berney' Nelson. As an infant, he moved to Ft. Calhoun, Nebraska with his family and grew up there. He was a 1974 graduate of Ft. Calhoun High School. He has been employed by Valmont Industries for the past 32 years and was still currently employed there.

On January 2, 1981, in Elk Point, South Dakota, he was married to Michelle Marion. Arlington has been their home for the past 20 years.

He was a member of the NRA (National Rifle Association).

He was preceded in death by his father Denton.

The funeral service will be 10 AM Thursday (Sept. 4th) at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont with the Rev. Scott Jensen officiating. The committal will follow in Ridge Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the NRA.

Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary will be on Wednesday from 2 to 8 PM, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM.
