Alice was born to Herman and Emma 'Stenvers' Stalling in Scribner on July 31, 1916. She was confirmed in St. Paul's Lutheran Church near Hooper. She attended school district 35, graduated from Scribner High School, and then graduated from the University of Nebraska.

She taught school in Beaver City, NE before moving to Denver in the 1940's. There she went to work for General Motors. In 1966, Alice was married to Art Miller. She loved gardening and flowers, and always had the most beautiful yard in the area.

She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Denver.

Her survivors are a step-daughter - Debra and husband Randy Straight, 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren all of Denver, her sister Evelyn Ellermeier of Scribner, NE, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Art, her parents, and 3 sisters, Agnes Peters, Marcella Suhr, and Doris Stalling.

A funeral service will be held in Denver at the Fairmount Mortuary Friday morning, 10 AM. (Jan. 30th). There will also be a funeral service in St. Paul's Lutheran Church (north of Hooper) at 10:30 AM Monday (Febr. 2nd, 2009) with Vicar Judy Johnson. The committal will follow in St. Paul's Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The visitation will be Monday morning at St. Paul's Church for an hour before the service.

    Evelyn, Sorry to read of Alice's death. I remember going to Uncle Herman and Aunt Emma's farm when Alice was still living there. Grandma vonseggern and my Dad Harvey and our family went to celebrate birthdays. Almost 70 years have passed but memories linger on.
