Shirley was born July 26, 1934 in Fremont to Fred and Hulda Hipke. She was raised in Fremont, graduating from Fremont High School in 1952.

On May 9, 1953, Shirley was married to Jack L. Boysen. They owned a farm in rural Fremont (Saunders County) where they lived for many years. She was employed for 20 years at Pendleton Woolen Mills in Fremont. During her lifetime, Shirley had a passion for music, playing in her high school musicals, and for weddings, and she was the Sunday pianist for many years at Pohocco Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jack in August of 1996, and by her parents.

Bret Boysen
2 grandchildren ........................... all of Fremont

The funeral service will be 10:30 AM Thursday (Febr. 12th) in the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel, Fremont, with the Rev. Scott Jensen officiating. The committal will follow in the Pohocco Cemetery south of Fremont. Memorials may directed to the family.

Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary will be on Wednesday from 2 to 8 PM, with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 PM.
