Doris was born Febr. 13, 1915 in Pleasanton, NE to Glenn and Mabel Borders. She graduated from Fremont High School.

She was married in 1934 to Roy Behrens and they made their home on his family farm in Saunders County, between Colon and Cedar Bluffs. In 1956, they moved into Fremont, and a few years later they moved back to Saunders County. After they had moved into Fremont, both Doris and her husband worked for Nebraska Furniture Mart in Omaha for 9 years. Then Doris worked for Gail's in Fremont, and then for J.C. Penneys in the Fremont Mall until she retired.

Doris was one of the original members of the contract bridge club in Cedar Bluffs. In her earlier years, she was a volunteer with the American Red Cross.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband Roy in February of 1995, and by her daughter-in-law Ann Behrens in January of 2008.

4 great grandchildren - Mindy Olson, Annie and husband Ross Denison,

The funeral service will be 10:30 Tuesday (April 14th) in the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont, with the Rev. Dr. William Lewis of The Presbyterian Church officiating. The committal will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, south of Cedar Bluffs. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.

Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont, will be today (Monday, April 13th) from 2 to 8 PM with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 PM.
