Loren was born May 29, 1923 in Fremont to Harry and Florence (Grob) Giebler. He was a lifetime resident of Fremont, graduating from Fremont High School in 1942. He served in the United States Army during the WW II years of 1942 1945. As a PFC, he saw duty in the South Pacific. He served in the 60th Division, 160th Infantry with the D-Dog Company. He was awarded 4 major battle stars.

He retired from Hormel Food Corp. in 1984, where he had been employed as a welder. Then for 20 years, he worked part time for the Pines Country Club near Valley.

Loren was a member of the First United Methodist Church (75 years), Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 200, a 'Lifetime' member of VFW Post 854, and a past member of the Izaak Walton League. He enjoyed coffee with his friends, golf, fishing and hunting, and bowling.

On October 11, 1947, Loren was married to the love of his life, Bernice Carlson, in Omaha.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Florence, and sister Lillian McGown.

The funeral service will be 1:30 PM, Tuesday (May 5th) in the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ron Croom officiating. The committal will follow in Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors by the Fremont Honor Guard of American Legion Post 20 and VFW Post 854. Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church or charity of the donor's choice.

Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont, will be today (Monday-May 4th) from 4 to 8 PM, with the family receiving friends from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 9am to 11am at the Funeral Home.
