Darleen was born March 4, 1918 in Ames, Nebraska to John and Maren 'Rasmussen' Lueken. At a young age the family moved to Colorado where they farmed, returning later to the Fremont 'Bluffs' area. On June 29, 1941 Darleen was married to Alman E. 'Bud' Fellows in Fremont. They continued to live in Fremont until they moved to a farm southwest of Hooper. They lived on the farm from 1947 until 1955 when they moved into Hooper. While living in Hooper Darleen worked as a secretary for the superintendent at the Hooper High School then also at Logan View High School. After Darleen and Bud retired they enjoyed playing cards traveling with friends.

Bud passed away in April of 1996. Darleen then moved to Shalimar Gardens in Fremont in July of 2004. She had been an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper.

Hi Jeanine and Diane, Your mom affected so many of us that passed through those halls at good ole Hooper High. I remember our Freshman year---blizzards, blizzards--I called to see if I could get home yet--I think I was getting home sick after being in Hooper for two nights--I cried --your mom comforted me and I think that night a bunch of us stayed at your home!!!! She had a BIG heart and a great smile. It is so hard to let got of those moms--our sympathies to you both. We had hoped to get to the mortuary tonight---but plans can always change--it would be so great to see you both. hugs, donna

I thank God for allowing me to see what a wonderful and caring person my grand aunt Darlene was to those around her. I ask that God give comfort to her family and friends for the heart felt loss of such a loved one. Let us remember that though this earthly life is fleeting, we will see her again in the kingdom of Heaven and rejoice once more.

May the grace and peace of The Father be with this wonderful family as they journey through this time. Their loved one is with the Lord. My prayers are with you. God bless you and keep you. Hugs, Gina

My favorite Aunt Darleen, known for her compassion and intellectual savy, brought a sense of peace and wellness into her world and to all who touched her. She was one of God's precious angels. I am a better person for knowing this tender and understanding woman.
