Bud passed away in April of 1996. Darleen then moved to Shalimar Gardens in Fremont in July of 2004. She had been an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper.

Darleen was preceded in death by her husband, Sister - Fern Lueken, and her parents.
The funeral will be 1:30pm on Saturday June 6, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper. The Rev. Joel Schroeder will officiate. Burial will follow in Bluffs Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Redeemer Lutheran Church. Visitation will be on Friday from 3pm to 8pm with the family receiving friends from 5pm to 7pm at Ludvigsen's Hooper Funeral Chapel in Hooper. Visitation will continue on Saturday one hour before the service at the church.

Hooper, NE Friday, June 5, 2009 Hi Jeanine and Diane, Your mom affected so many of us that passed through those halls at good ole Hooper High. I remember our Freshman year---blizzards, blizzards--I called to see if I could get home yet--I think I was getting home sick after being in Hooper for two nights--I cried --your mom comforted me and I think that night a bunch of us stayed at your home!!!! She had a BIG heart and a great smile. It is so hard to let got of those moms--our sympathies to you both. Grand Island, NE Wednesday, June 3, 2009 My favorite Aunt Darleen, known for her compassion and intellectual savy, brought a sense of peace and wellness into her world and to all who touched her. She was one of God's precious angels. I am a better person for knowing this tender and understanding woman.
