On May 24, 1953 Dennis and Valiera M. Hoegemeyer were married at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Scribner. They were lifetime residents of the Scribner area, farming until moving into Scribner. Dennis and Valiera moved to the Elkhorn Valley Villa and then Dennis eventually moved to the Scribner Good Samaritan Center.
Dennis was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Scribner, serving as Elder and also other Council Offices. He was a member of the Lutheran Layman's League, VFW Post 8439 of Snyder and the American Legion Post 121 of Scribner.

Dennis was preceded in death by his wife in September of 2008, a son Dale in 1978, and a grandson Jeff in 1978.
The funeral will be 10:30am Friday June 12 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Scribner. The Rev. Bruce Schut will officiate. Burial will follow in the Scribner Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family. Visitation will be on Thursday June 11 from 3pm to 8pm with the family receiving friends from 6pm to 8pm. Visitation will be held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Scribner. Visitation will continue one hour before the service at the church.
