On Febr. 21, 1952, Eldon was married to Deloris Knight. He began working in Des Moines for the grain exchange, then lived in several other communities before moving to Fremont in January of 1969. In Fremont, he became owner of Fremont Grain Inspection which he operated until selling in 2002. He had also operated Eldon's Place, a restaurant, in Fremont for several years. Eldon had been married to Michelle Stover, and they later divorced.
Eldon had a love of horses, and in his earlier years he participated in rodeos. He had been a long time member of the Cosmopolitan Club, he sponsored several softball teams and he sponsored bowling teams. He also had sponsored a stockcar that ran at Sunset Speedway near Irvington.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Barbara, his parents John and Goldie Davis, 4 sisters and 5 brothers.
A memorial service will be 10:30 AM Wednesday (July 22nd) in the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel, Fremont, with the Rev. Scott Jensen officiating. The committal will be in Ridge Cemetery. There is no public viewing, however the family will be present at the funeral home Tuesday evening, 6 to 8 PM, to meet with friends.
