He was born November 20,1944, in Fremont to Robert and Orletha (Stanley) Kruger. He has been a lifetime resident of Fremont, graduating from Fremont High School in 1962. He received his associate's degree in 1972 from Southeast Community College in Milford, NE.

He served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1968, with a year of that service in Germany. He began his career in 1973 with Xerox as a copier technician, and retired in January of 2008 from Solution One.

On July 25, 1970, he was married here in Fremont to Wanda Knoell.

He was a very active member of Salem Lutheran Church, a member of the Fremont Masonic Lodge No. 15 A.F. & A.M., the Fremont Eagles Aerie 200, and a retired member of the Fremont Rural Fire Dept. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing, and bowling.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert C. Kruger.

The funeral service will be 10 AM Monday (Sept. 14th, 2009) at Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont with the Rev. Michael Thomas officiating. The committal will follow in Ridge Cemetery with Military Honors by the Fremont Honor Guard of American Legion Post 20 and VFW Post 854. Memorials are suggested to the National Brain Tumor Society, Salem Lutheran Church, Nebraska Lutheran Outdoors Ministries, and the American Cancer Society.

Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont, will be on Sunday (Sept. 13th) from 2 PM to 8 PM, with the family receiving friends from 4 PM to 8 PM.
