On November 27, 1949, Darlene Kumm was married in Bazile Mills to Wilbur D. 'Bud' Johnson. During their first 4 years of marriage, the couple moved around due to Bud's work with the Chicago Northwestern Railroad.
In 1953 they moved to Fremont and have lived here since. Darlene was a homemaker, raising and caring for her family. She enjoyed sewing and quilting.
She did work for the Fremont Tribune for nearly 15 years, in the circulation department.
Darlene was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont.
Darlene was preceded in death by her husband Wilbur 'Bud' in May of 2008, by 2 sons Ronald and Kevin, and by 2 brothers Alvin and Elmer.
Survivors: son - Terry Johnson and wife Meera Kohler of Anchorage, Alaska
3 daughters - Renee and husband A.J. Haas III of Omaha

granddaughter - Erica Johnson of Nashville, Tenn.
grandson - Zach Myers of Fremont
brother - Laverne and wife Darlene Kumm of Fremont
The funeral service will be 10:30 AM Thursday (Dec. 10th, 2009) at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dan Heuer officiating. The committal will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran School and Church.
Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont, will be on Wednesday (Dec. 9th) from 2 to 8 PM, with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 PM.
