Charlotte was born May 24, 1918 in Schuyler, Nebraska to John and Rose (McNally) Dowd.

On June 25, 1946, Charlotte was married in Schuyler to Fred C. Wesch. They lived on a farm near Correctionville, Iowa for 5 years. Then in 1953, they moved and bought a farm near North Bend, Nebraska. They farmed there until retiring and moving into Fremont in 1981.

Charlotte had taught in rural schools in Colfax and Butler counties. She also taught elementary grades in Abie and Octavia. During these years, she attended Midland College in Fremont for a summer and she attended the University of Nebraska for a summer. Charlotte had been a 4-H Leader and later was a Red Cross Volunteer in the hospital in Fremont for 20 years.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont where she sang with the New Life Choir for 15 years. She was a member of the St. Joan of Arc Circle and she was an EME - Eucharistic Minister.

She was preceded in death by her husband Fred on April 1, 2007, by her parents John and Rose Dowd, brothers Leo, Donald, Gerald, and John, and a sister Loretta Mack.

Her survivors are: 2 sons - Dean and wife Kathy Wesch of Schuyler
Gerald and wife Deb Wesch of Fremont
5 grandchildren
6 step-grandchildren
3 great grandchildren
1 brother - Harold Dowd of Schuyler

The funeral mass will be 10:30 AM Thursday (March 25, 2010) at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Fremont. The committal will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday (March 24th) at the Ludvigsen Mortuary from 2 to 8 PM, with a Vigil Service at 7 PM.

Memorials are suggested to St. Patrick's Building Fund.

    Deepest sympathy to the family of Charlotte Wesch, I new her as a helper to people worked for, she was simply a wonderful person, she made food and would make visits to keep them going and always joyful, and as sweet as she could be. Fred and Charlotte would have our daughter over at there house and was wonderful to her grandchildren. i am sure she will be greatly missed.
