Cynthia M. 'Cindy' Gustafson, age 72, of Fremont
Died Monday, February 23, 2026 at Methodist Fremont Health

Cindy was born July 31, 1953 in Fremont to Carol and Sylvia 'Spes' Frey. She was raised in Fremont and graduated from Fremont High School in 1971. She was also a 1972 graduate of the Lincoln School of Commerce. Cindy worked in the banking industry as an IT Business Analyst and also as an Assistant VP at Bank of the West in Omaha. She retired in 2017. Cindy was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont and was very active in her church. She served as a projectionist, lay reader, communion assistant and assistant minister. She also belonged to Ruth Circle and served on the church council. In recent years helped the church serving meals after funerals.

Cindy enjoyed spending time being with her nieces, nephew and great nieces. She belonged to many civic organizations throughout the years. She also enjoyed golfing and bowling.

Survivors:
Brother - Ed (Nancy) Frey of Fremont
Nieces - Kimberly Frey and Kerry Greunke
Nephew - Cody Frey
Great nieces - Maria and Clara Greunke
Many cousins and other family and friends

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents Carol and Sylvia Frey.

There is no viewing but the family will receive friends on Friday, February 27, 2026 beginning at 9:30am at Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont. The memorial service will follow at 10:30am. Memorials are suggested to the church. Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont in charge of arrangements.
