died Friday, February 6, 2026 at the Heritage at Shalimar Gardens in Fremont.
Carla J. Meyer(Leu) was born on March 29, 1945 in Norfolk, Nebraska to Robert Leu and Leora Inez Leu (Twiss). She grew up in Norfolk and graduated from Norfolk High School 1963. She then moved to Grand Island and then to Omaha. On April 21,1968 in St Paul, NE. she married her husband, Ronald L Meyer Jr. They moved to Santa Anna, CA. and returned to western Nebraska where they worked on various ranches. They also owned and operated a dairy farm near Ewing, NE. In 1985 they moved to Fremont, NE. where they settled and raised their children and lived out the remainder of her life.
Throughout her life, Carla worked various jobs, always doing what was needed for her family. She enjoyed gardening and always had the most beautiful flowers. She will be remembered for her love of family. She was a devoted mother to her children and amazing loving grandmother to her grandchildren. She was a mother-like figure to her many nieces and nephews and touched many lives as a 4-H leader. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Inez Leu, brothers Charles William Leu and Edgar Lyle Leu and sister Lorena Asbury.
She is survived by her husband Ronald Meyer; children David (Renee) Meyer and Kyla Meyer; her brother Robert (Ardis) Leu and sister Leora Leu, sister in-law Karen (Jack) Thompson; and her beloved grandchildren Kody, Nevaeh and Morgan.
A celebration of life will be held at Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel, Wednesday, February 11th with visitation at 9:30 and service at 10:30 with lunch to follow. Burial will be Thursday Feb.12th 12:00 noon at Broken Bow, NE. cemetery. Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.
