David was born August 31, 1942 in Fremont, NE, to Earl E. and Irene A. (Popken) Fauss. He was raised in Hooper and graduated from Hooper High School in 1959. He was awarded a Regents Scholarship and attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln before he began working for his father in the family construction business. David later worked 25 years for Lueder Construction Company in Omaha.
He was a volunteer fireman and EMT for Hooper Fire Department for 20 years. He also served as a school board member for Hooper District #26, a board member for Elkhorn Valley Golf Course as well and a council member for Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper.
David married Bonnie L. Stodola in July 1962 and they shared 63 years of married life with family and friends enjoying golf and later, travel. They visited 49 states, spending time with old friends and making new ones.
He was devoted to his family and rarely turned down an opportunity to help his children and grandchildren with projects, including building a garage, decks, installing floors, or just fixing whatever needed fixed when dad/grandpa visited. His wisdom, hugs, and love were shared generously and stories of ''grand adventures'' were favorites among family.
The family extends a warm thank you to the caring and professional staff at Heritage of BelAir in Norfolk, NE for the care provided to Dave.
