Died Sunday March 23, 2025 at Nebraska Methodist Hospital.
Rod was born February 20,1947 in Wayne, Nebraska to Milton and Wilma 'Marx' Borgmeyer. He was raised in Wisner until the age of 5 when the family moved to Fremont. Rod graduated from Fremont High School in 1965. He attended the Denver School of Art then Midland College. He entered the United States Navy in 1968 and served on active duty until 1970. While on active duty he served as Public Affairs Officer for the Navy's Blue Angels. He continued to serve in the reserves until 1973. On January 25, 1969 Rodney married Janet Mains at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont by his grandfather Rev. E.L. Borgmeyer. After his military service the couple returned to Fremont.
Rod began a long career in retail sales. First working in Fremont for Schweser's in the Men's department then working at various stores throughout the country until coming back to Fremont in 1991. He finished his retail sales career at Sampter's before working part time at HyVee. Rod was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont.

Rod was preceded in death by his parents, step mother Ethel Borgmeyer, sister-in-law Karen Mains and brother-in-law John Rabe.
The funeral will be 10:30am, Monday, March 31, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. Burial with Military Honors by the Fremont Honor Guard will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Sunday with the family present from 2pm to 4pm at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont.
