Jerry was born September 16, 1942 in Emerson, Nebraska to Joseph and Ardith 'Suhr' Denker. Jerry was raised on a farm near Coleridge and graduated from Coleridge High in 1960. He worked on a farm until joining the United States Army in 1962. He served as a Track Vehicle/Tank Mechanic until being released from active duty in 1965. On August 1, 1965 he married Kathryn Hawk at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wisner. The couple moved to Fremont and then Jerry began a 30 year career at Hormel. After retiring from Hormel he went to work at Woodhouse for another 18 years.
Jerry was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont and VFW Post 854. Jerry's favorite thing was to spend time with his family.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Robin in 2007 and infant sister.
The funeral will be 10:30am, Wednesday August 7, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. Rev. Greg Rathke will officiate. Military Honors will be rendered at the church by the Fremont Honor Guard. Burial will be at a later date in Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3pm to 8pm with the family present from 6pm to 8pm at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel.
