She was born to William and Martha(Tonjes)Krueger on a rented homeplace in SW Cuming County on March 31, 1933. She was baptized at the Zion Lutheran Church nearby. Later, Beverly lived on a farm with her family near Bancroft, driving to town and graduating from Bancroft High School in 1950. She attended Wayne State College for several sessions, qualifying to teach in country school, which she did for at least two years. She used to point these school buildings out; one was on Highway 32, and the other near her parents' farm, both in Cuming County.
Beverly enjoyed farm work and business, making her an excellent partner for Alfred Egbers. They were married on December 12, 1954, and went on an exciting adventure of a honeymoon to Cuba. For many years, the Egbers family farm raised hogs, cattle, and sometimes ducks and chickens. During the 1970s, the Egbers Flighting and Supply took off, allowing Alfred and Beverly to meet members of the public regularly to sell auger flighting and fix farm equipment in the machine shop. While Alfred enjoyed welding and wrench-collecting, Beverly was interested in the collection of corn-related items. The two of them often went to tool meets and other collecting societies to show their treasures. Beverly had attended the Dodge County historical society meetings and took great interest in local history, acquiring books, clippings, and memorabilia of Dodge and Cuming counties.
Beverly Egbers was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alfred, in 2014, her sister and brother-law Bonnie and Kenneth Groskurth. She is survived by her sons, Charles of Uehling and Douglas of rural Hooper, as well as nine grandchildren (Sara Brader, Fremont; Scott Egbers (Mallorie), Sioux City; Henry Egbers (Mallary), Campbell, NE; Job Egbers, Lyons; Cyrina (Ron)Allen Bridger, MT; Michael (Jenni), Uehling; Brett (Mindy), Hooper; Deadrick and Deirdre, Blair) and seventeen great-grandchildren (Brandon, Christian J., Keona, Elizabeth, Jonathan, Lydia, Haley, Parker, Raimey Jo, Jorgia, Rook, Jocelyn, Elly, Kavan, Emery, Josh, Rhett.
She is also survived by her nephews Bill Groskurth (Deb) of Hinton, IA and Kevin Groskurth (Kelly) of Center Point, IA, cousins Ann Tonjes of TX, Jean Anders of Newton, KS as well as many second- and third- cousins and hundreds of friends and acquaintances from Dodge County and beyond.
