died Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Methodist Fremont Health.
Gwendolynn Kay Hornback was born on February 10th, 1945 to Earl and Fern Hornback. They brought her home to join her sister Karen and brother Shelton on a farm outside of Spencer, NE in Boyd County. She was raised in a good Christian home and attended a country school. Later, she would venture into Spencer and live with her grandma Mary Etta Hornback and attend high school there. Gwen loved the social aspects of being in town. She graduated high school in 1963 and moved to Columbus to live with her sister Karen's family and work at Dale Electronics.
Norman and Gwen met in Fremont in the spring of 1967 and were married that August in Spencer, NE. They lived in Fremont where they bought their first home and enjoyed several fun hobbies over the years like waterskiing, air boating, and car racing. They welcomed their first daughter Shannon in October 1970 and their 2nd daughter Danielle in 1976. Gwen and Norm were self-employed for 32 ½ years and retired in 2014.
Norm enjoys gardening and Gwen loved canning all the bountiful harvests from their garden. Gwen was a great cook and food was always plentiful in the Gall household. She enjoyed having people over for meals and fellowship, everyone was always welcome at Gwen & Norm's home.
They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2017 after Gwen had triple bypass surgery. Gwen has suffered from multiple health issues over the past several years. We will miss her so much, but we are grateful she is no longer suffering here on earth and is in the presence of our Heavenly Father.
Gwen is survived by her husband Norman Gall, daughters Shannon (Jim) Jenkins of Fremont, Danielle (Roy) Abbott of Bennington. Grandkids: Conner (Jordan) Jenkins of Fremont, Neleigh Jenkins of Fremont, Kiana & Teagan Abbott of Bennington, and her first great-grandson Miller Jenkins. Sister Karen Tate of Columbus, NE, brother Shelton (Mary) Hornback of Cedar Falls, IA, and multiple nieces and nephews.

Omaha, Nebraska, NE Thursday, May 11, 2023 Norm and family, Please accept our deep condolences at your loss of Gwen. Carl and I will be unable to attend her funeral or visitation as we will be out of town. Rose Mary and Nyla will be there to share a hug from me. I was always delighted to visit with you folks - Gwen was such a joyful, fun person and the two of you just seemed so happy to be together. A real tribute to family life and love!I also remember long ago visiting at Earl and Fern's with our folks, Leo and Rose Ohri. Such good friends they all were out in the country. Gwen was so much like her folks - so warm and hospitable. I know you will gain comfort from your many happy memories of times together! Linda
