Nancy was born November 25, 1951, at West Point Memorial Hospital to Kenneth and Frances 'Meyer' Schafer. She was raised on the family farm south of Scribner. Nancy graduated from Scribner High School in 1970. After high school, she attended CE School of Commerce, in Omaha from 1970-1971. Nancy married Donald Beck on June 9, 1979. Nancy and Don have been life-long Scribner residents. Together they raised 3 children, Stacey, Stephanie, and David.
For 30 years, Nancy babysat for families in the community. She also spent many hours doing her crafts and needlepoint projects for her grandchildren, family, and friends. Another passion for her was baking, especially cutout cookies for every holiday. She spent many hours with the grandkids doing baking and crafts that were shared with the family. Another pastime she enjoyed was doing puzzles. She loved attending her grandkids sporting events and programs. Her love for kids also was shared with many Sunday School and Bible School students at St. Peter's Lutheran Church.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws, sister-in-law Joan Beck, brothers in-law Duane Beck and Marlin Hansen.
The funeral will be 10:30am, Thursday, January 6, 2022 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Scribner. Burial will follow in the Scribner Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Scribner Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3pm to 8pm with the family present from 5pm to 8pm at Ludvigsen's Scribner Funeral Chapel.
