I am so saddened to hear of George's passing. TSgt Antaya (George) was my supervisor at Bedford Air Force Station, Virginia in 1973-74. It was his last assignment before retirement and my first assignment in my Air Force career. He was an awesome and trusting supervisor, giving credit where credit was due. I saw him once in Fremont in 1978 while visiting a friend for the weekend. Later I was stationed at Schribner State Airfield (1982-83) and and lived in Fremont, so, I had a few occasions to talk to George. I actually received the notification of George's passing earlier this week from the person that was our work center NCOIC (Non-Commissioned Officer In Charge). We had talked about George a couple of months ago. MSgt Brookin (Len) had asked about George and if I knew where he was. I told him Fremont, NE. Evidently he did a name search and found the obituary. George, know you will be missed by your friends and you were thought of often. You were the standard I looked for in all supervisors after you but few came close. Rest In Peace Technical Sergeant Antaya. We have the Watch. Slow Hand Salute.

George and I first met, during June 1964, when we were paired to form a Launch Crew (R-28) for a classified program at Scribner Air Force Station, Nebraska. George and I performed crew duties until the end of December 1967, when the program was deactivated. January 1968 saw us sent in various directions, but George and I stayed in contact through the years via Christmas greetings. That is until Christmas 2020, when my card was returned unopened. I consider George one of my very true friends from the military. I know he is in a much better place than I, even though I grieve his absence.

George I am going to miss you at bible study. You read the passages with feeling and respect. Your insight was always valued. I liked our discussions afterward especially our feelings on the constitution. I also will miss talking about our times in the Air Force.

Teresa and Paige.... So sorry to learn of your loss. How fitting that he was on his way to Bible study and ended up in heaven! May you draw comfort in knowing that the "Celestial Air" he is breathing now is free from any impurities. Waking up in glory and finding it home! We love you!
