Ted was born September 1, 1945 in Clinton, Iowa to Rev. William and Jean 'Wheymeier' Ilten. Ted attended school in Iowa until moving to California. He graduated high school in California and attended college until entering the U.S. Army and served from 1967 to 1970. Ted finished his schooling in California and began working at Stiger Optical. He married Judy Langemeier on June 30, 1973. He then worked for Schultz Optical until moving to Fremont and began his career with Bloom Optical in 1985.
Ted was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont, Bible Study Fellowship in Fremont and the Fremont Kiwanis Club.

Daughter Tiffany Ilten of Ann Arbor, Michigan
Brother William Ilten (wife Sharon) of Riverside, California
Ted was preceded in death by his parents Rev. William and Jean 'Wheymeier' Ilten.
The celebration of Ted's life is 11am, Saturday (December 22) at Trinity Lutheran Church followed by Military Honors at the church by the Fremont Honor Guard. Burial will be in the Omaha National Cemetery, Friday (December 21) at 9am. Memorials are suggested to Lutheran Family Services, Lutheran Hour and Katie Comfort Dog. There is no viewing but the family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm Friday, December 21st at Trinity Lutheran Church.
