Vaudine M. Mariner, 73, of rural Cedar Bluffs,
died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, in Fremont.

Vaudine was born October 6, 1944 in Fremont to Harold and Marie (Dunne) Weber. She grew up in Hooper and Manilla, Iowa, with the family returning to Hooper where she graduated from High School. She attended and graduated from Dana College in Blair, and taught English in high school in Fremont for 11 years.

Vaudine was married on April 2, 1977 to Wilbert J. Mariner in the Chapel of The Presbyterian Church in Fremont by the Rev. Don Ball. They have made their home in rural Cedar Bluffs.

She was a member of The Presbyterian Church of Fremont and was active there in many of the offices and activities. She had also been involved in the Homestead Presbytery level of the church. Vaudine enjoyed her time with the North Bend Community Band.

Her survivors include her husband W.J. 'Bill' Mariner, sister Johnet Saunders of Oskaloosa, Iowa; brother-in-law John and wife Carol Mariner of Avon Lake, Ohio; nieces and nephews, the family of Roger and Dianne
Hunteman of Hooper, and close friends Mandi Vuinovich and Nathan Williams.

The funeral service will be 11 AM Thursday at The Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jim Splitt. The committal will be in the Hooper Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society and Dodge County Humane Society. Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont, will be on Wednesday 3 to 8 PM, with the family receiving friends 6 to 8 PM.

    So sorry for the loss of Vaudine. I have many fond memories of Vaudine from the old days of district meetings at B&W. She was always the light of the party, a wonderful woman who was also admired by many. I'm so sorry for her suffering with this terrible disease. May Vaudine rest in peace.
