Eric was born October 14th, 1974 in Omaha, NE. He patiently waited until Dennis and Deanna Jacobson came into his life and adopted him. Eric was baptized at First Lutheran in Fremont, NE. He also was confirmed at First Lutheran in Fremont, NE.
In his younger years Eric was involved in Cub Scouts and flag football. He enjoyed fishing, swimming and tried to be a skateboarder. He truly enjoyed basketball watching and playing. Many games of HORSE were played in the driveway. He loved wrestling back when it was real. He mastered most every Nintendo and Intellivision game. He became a handful in his teenage years that followed him through adulthood. Eric seemed to take the road less traveled. Very bumpy, muddy and sometimes got stuck in the field. Eric was placed in situations where he could share God with the most unlikely people. Eric never gave up on the Dukes. We never gave up on him.
You see, I knew a different man. One you probably don't know. Eric was a child of God. He lived a troubled, hard life. God holds us all in the palm of his hand. One day we will see God's glory and forgiveness just as Eric has.
Eric was greeted by family and friends waiting for him: father Dennis Jacobson, Aunt Mavis, Aunt Mary and Uncle Arlen, Aunt Rita; Grandparents Myra and Oliver, Arnold and Eileen Roper and Oma Roper.
Eric is survived by daughter Trinity and son Cameron; mother, Deanna (James) Wagner; sister, Kari (Jeff) Perry; niece, Brandie Jacobson (Phil Breidall); and a brand new great nephew that he didn't get to meet, Wyatt Breidall; Uncles, Gary (Debbie) Roper, Randy (Betty) Roper, Neil Roper, Don Rasmussen; Aunt, Janine Roper; many cousins and many friends.
A Celebration of life will be Saturday March 24th at 11:00 at the UFCW Union Hall (2410 N. Colorado Ave.) in Fremont, NE.

Omaha, NE Friday, March 23, 2018 Eric and I were two very different people, yet we always had an amazing connection that lasted clear up until the time he last texted me...about 2 weeks ago. I never responded to that last text, and I will forever be sorry. Eric was like this amazing big brother who always had my back. I felt safe when he was near me...even through trouble seemed to follow him. My father was a police officer in Fremont, which you think would have made Eric run far away from me. ;) I always admired him and I was very shocked to hear of his passing. I was excited for him to start a new path. My deepest condolences.RIP Eric
