Lolita was born on April 30, 1915 on the farm in Nickerson to Frank and Hellena 'Hilbers' Liston. She grew up in Nickerson and moved to Holcomb, Kansas in high school to nanny for her sister. Lolita returned to Nickerson and finished her last year of high school in Hooper. After high school she lived with another sister while she worked for her brother-in-law at the Webster Store.

Lolita married Harold Porter on February 12, 1941 at Grace Lutheran Church in Hooper. After their marriage they lived and farmed in rural Scribner. Harold preceded her in death in 1984. Lolita continued to live on the farm until she moved into the Elkhorn Valley Villa in Scribner in May of 2006.

Lolita was a volunteer at Birchwood Manor in North Bend for over 20 years. She was a member of St. John's Ridgeley Lutheran Church, WELCA (Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in American), and the SMILES's Club.

Lolita was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter Dee Ann Porter, 5 sisters, and 3 brothers.

The funeral will be Saturday January 19, 10:30A.M. at St. John's Ridgeley Lutheran Church, Scribner. The Rev. Dr. Nicki McIntyre will officiate. Burial will follow in St. John's Ridgeley Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. John's Ridgeley. Visitation will be Friday 3:00pm to 8:00pm with family receiving friends from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at Ludvigsen's Scribner Funeral Chapel in Scribner. Visitation will continue 1 hour before the service at the church.
