Delbert Dean Larsen was born March 26, 1937, to Floyd Cleland Larsen and Margaret Caroline (Knudsen) Larsen. He married Judy Elaine (Havekost) Larsen in December 1957. They have three children and
five grandchildren, a daughter, Julie Larsen, and her husband Chris Vogt from Irvine California, a daughter Pam Rasmussen and her husband Dale, from Ceresco, Nebraska, and a son Todd Larsen and his wife
Anjana from Temecula California. The grandchildren are Kallie Larsen, Loki and Tanner Rasmussen, and Tyler and Troy Larsen. He is also survived by his brother Lyman Larsen and wife Mary of Omaha.

Del graduated from Hooper High School in 1955. He attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and was a walk-on for the football team. He was in the Army for two years and worked for Fremont Farmer's Union Coop, and First National Bank of Hooper. He farmed for 30 years and retired in 1999.

Delbert was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, which became Redeemer Lutheran Church. He was on the council at Redeemer. He was on the Board of Directors at the First National Bank of Hooper. Delbert was
president of the Fremont Shrine Club, Master of the Masonic Lodge of Hooper, and Worthy Patron of Friendship Chapter #122. He was also a member of the Hooper Volunteer Fire Department. He was president of the Board at Elkhorn Valley Golf Course and a member of the Oakland Golf Course Board. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 18 of Hooper. Del gave of his time and talents in volunteer activities.

The funeral will be 10:30am Monday (December 1, 2008) in Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper. The Rev. Joel Schroeder will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hooper Cemetery with Military Honors by the American Legion Post 18 of Hooper. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3pm to 8pm with family receiving friends from 7pm to 8pm at Ludvigsen's Hooper Funeral Chapel. The family is requesting memorials to Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hooper Area Community Foundation and the Hooper Volunteer Fire Department.
