Lovell R. Pawley

Lovell was born June 24, 1914 in Norfolk, Nebraska to William R. and Bessie V. (Lovell) Pawley. He lived his early years in Madison, Norfolk, and Lincoln. He came to Fremont with his family in 1925, later working for his father's Pawley Oil Co. Following his father's death, Lovell and his brother George and their mother operated the business, until selling out in 1954.
He then worked in construction for 2 years, then moved to California where he drove a school bus. In 1962 he came back to Fremont and worked briefly for Paul Christensen, and then began driving over the road for his brother's trucking company. He retired after working several years for Platte Valley Cement & Tile Co. (now known as Hydro Conduit). Lovell moved to Camarillo, California in August of 2005 to be with his family there.
Lovell was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fremont. He also was a member of Fremont Masonic Lodge No. 15 A.F. & A.M., the Scottish Rite of Omaha, Tangier Shrine Center of Omaha, Fremont Shrine Club, a Past Patron of Arbor Vitae Chapter 92 Order of Eastern Star of Fremont, and he had been a member of the Fremont Eagles Aerie 200.
On December 13, 1933, Lovell was married in Fremont to Berniece Olson. She preceded him in death on March 31, 1983. Also preceding him was a daughter Marjorie Jensen, his son Dwayne, and brother George.

The funeral service will be 10 AM Saturday (May 23, 2009) in the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel, Fremont, with the Rev. Ron Croom officiating. The committal will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Masonic Eastern Star Home for Children in Fremont.
Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary will be on Friday from 2 to 8 PM., with a Masonic Service, open to the public, at 7 PM, conducted by the Fremont Masonic Lodge.
