Lucille Belle Otte was born in Waterloo, NE April 6th, 1919 to Herman and Emma (Brown) Otte. The family moved to Richland and Lucille graduated from high school in Schuyler, NE in 1936.
In her early working years, she worked for Al's Café, Mead Ordnance Plant, and Rumps. She was employed for many years by the Fremont School system at Davenport and Linden Elementary as a secretary, until her retirement in 1981. Lucille was an avid bowler for many years and proudly displayed numerous trophies, earning a place in the Nebraska Bowlers Hall of Fame, and the Fremont Bowler's Hall of Fame. She also enjoyed sewing crafts, and played in several card groups. Her favorite hobbies were watching baseball, and being a Husker football fan.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont.
On Febr. 12, 1948, Lucille was married to Lloyd Echtenkamp. Lloyd died on March 13, 1978.

Also preceding her in death was a son George King Jr., a granddaughter, her parents, 3 brothers, Roland, Jack, and Harold Otte and a sister Elvina (Otte) Binder.

Lucille is survived by a daughter Dianne Holthe and her husband Terry, of Sutherlin, OR;
a son Lee Echtenkamp and his wife Katie, of Des Moines, Iowa; and a daughter-in-law, Polly King, of Pensacola, Florida. Lucille also leaves ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be on Tuesday (August 4th, 2009), 10:30 AM, at Trinity Lutheran Church (16th & Luther Rd, Fremont) with the Rev. Michael Meyer officiating. The committal will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church.

Visitation will be at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont, on Monday (Aug. 3rd) from 2 to 8 PM, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM.
