Arleen was born October 4, 1915 in Elgin, Nebraska. Her parents were Thomas and Anna (Trennepohl) Adams. She graduated from high school in Norfolk, Nebraska, then attended Norfolk Junior College, Norfolk Business College, and Ohio State University.

Arleen was married on December 26, 1948 in Fremont to R. Earle Danford. At that time he was circulation manager of the Fremont Guide & Tribune. Then the Danford's opened Danford's Appliance and Gifts on Main St. in downtown Fremont and operated that business until 1963. They moved to Ohio where Arleen became the office manager of the Astronomy Dept. at Ohio State University until retiring in 1983, at which time they returned to Fremont. Arleen's husband Earle, died in June of 1983, just 2 months after returning to Fremont.

She was a member of the First Congregational Church, UCC of Fremont. She had been a member of several organizations including Arbor Vitae Chapter 92 Order of Eastern Star, Sat-Ra Temple 59 Daughter's of the Nile of Omaha, Fremont Nile Club, Fremont Art Association, Hospital Auxiliary Volunteers, Dodge County Historical Society, and the Fremont Golf Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband Earle, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters.

niece - Barbara (Adams) Pfeifler of Gilbert, Arizona

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday (October 7th, 2009) 10:30am in the First Congregational Church, UCC (15th & Broad Streets) with the Rev. Terri Akkerman officiating. The committal will be in Memorial Cemetery. There is no public visitation. Memorials are suggested to her church.
