Ralph F. Glodowski

Ralph Francis Joseph Glodowski was born on the family farm November 25, 1925, north of Dodge in Cuming County. He was the 1st of three children of Frank and Elsie (Lhotak) Glodowski. He was baptized in St. Wenceslaus in Dodge, Nebraska in 1927. The family moved to a farm west of Scribner. He graduated from Scribner High School in 1943. In 1945 the family moved to the home place northeast of North Bend. In 1953 Ralph married Margret A. Elbracht at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Howells. They lived on the family dairy farm 10 miles southwest of Scribner. He had farmed at the North Bend home for over 60 years. They had six children. Ralph enjoyed fishing and hunting, hot dog roasts, and having the family together at the farm. He was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus, North Bend Council #3736. He served as Farm Bureau President. He was on the school board and served as Nebraska State Rural Youth Secretary. Ralph was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Scribner; and St. Lawrence Holy Name. He was Dairy Superintendent at the Dodge County Fair and 4-H Fair, and a member of The Mid-American Dairy Farmers. Ralph was a recipient of the Ak-Sar-Ben Good Neighbor Award.
Survivors: Wife - Margret of North Bend 6 Children - Kathy Glodowski of Madison Marian and husband Edward Frisch of Madison Joyce Glodowski of North Bend Jim and wife Pam Glodowski of Farnam, Nebraska Jan and husband Carl Aschoff of West Point Jerry Glodowski of North Bend Grandchildren - Sally (husband Jason) Frisch Dahlberg, Brian (wife Virginia) Frisch, Jody Frisch Gullicksen, Amy (husband Mark) Frisch Givens, Vicky Frisch, Kelsey and (wife Jessica) Glodowski, Logan Glodowski, Lucas Glodowski, Carmen Glodowski, Vincent Glodowski. Great grandchildren - Dustin Maggio, Shannon Maggio, Desiree Gullicksen, Davian Gullicksen, Derrek Gullicksen, Natasha Dahlberg, Alisha Dahlberg, Cejay Dahlberg, Devin Frisch.
Sister - Betty Ann Elbracht of Howells Sisters-in-law - Betty Glodowski of Ames Agnes Stigge of Gretna Kay Lavigne of Gretna Brother-in-law - Robert Maxwell of Lincoln Ralph was preceded in death by his brother Richard.
The Funeral Mass will be Saturday January 16 at 10:30A.M. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Scribner. The Rev. Vitalis Anyanike will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Ridgeley Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family. Visitation will be on Friday from 3pm to 8pm with family receiving friends from 5pm to 7pm at St. Lawrence. A public wake service will be held at 7pm on Friday also at the church.
