Shirley Mae Schiessler

Shirley was born to Walter and Rifina (Wagner) Roth in Hooper, Nebraska on February 20, 1927. She grew up in Hooper and graduated from high school there.
On November 18, 1945, Shirley was married to John B. Schiessler. The couple lived in Hooper, then due to John's employment with Omaha Public Power District, the couple moved to Valley in 1960, to Ralston in 1968, to Gretna in 1972, and in their retirement years, they moved to Fremont in 1998.
When living in Hooper, Shirley was the organist for Grace Lutheran Church for several years. She was also an organist while living in Valley, and she taught piano and organ while living there. And she worked as a dental assistant when living in Gretna.
Shirley is a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont. She is a Past Matron of Friendship Chapter No. 122, Order of Eastern Star of Hooper. She was an avid sports fan, especially baseball, and she was a cornhusker fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters.
Survivors: husband - John 2 daughters - Kay and husband Brent Scott of Papillion Julie and husband Larry Carlisle of Odessa, Texas 1 son - Jack and wife Sheryl Schiessler of Plattsmouth 9 grandchildren 7 great grandchildren
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Monday (Nov. 22nd) at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Michael Thomas officiating. Memorials are suggested to St. Labre Indian School in Ashland, Montana, Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont, and Friendship Chapter No. 122 Order of Eastern Star of Hooper.
