Marilyn K. Nott, age 84, of Fremont
Died Wednesday February 25, 2026 at Nye Legacy in Fremont.

Marilyn was born December 23, 1941 at home in Hooper, Nebraska to Hilbert and Wilma 'Landerfield' Smeal. She was raised in Hooper and graduated from Hooper High School in 1960. She married Richard Nott on June 4, 1961 and during their marriage they lived in Hooper, Cedar Bluffs, North Bend and Fremont while Richard worked for OPPD.

Marilyn worked briefly at Montgomery Ward as a bookkeeper during the early parts of her marriage. She then spent her time raising her family. She was a Cub Scout den mother, Brownie/Girl Scout leader as well as a Sunday School teacher. Her primary role and source of Joy was her job as a mother and homemaker. She sang for weddings and funerals. She also sang in the community choir and her church choir. She played the saxophone for the community band and she enjoyed playing the piano. She loved to garden and had many plants inside and outside of the home. Marilyn loved animals, she had several dogs over the years, but the one near and dear to her heart was HyDee.

Daughter Kelle (KC) Carnes of Signal Mountain, Tennessee
Son-in-law - Brian Watson of Fremont
Brother-in-law - Harold 'Gene' (Marian) Nott of Fremont
Sister-in-law - Alice Nott of Fremont
Sister-in-law - Joan (Dave) Stevens of Bemidji, Minnesota
18 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews

Marilyn was preceded in death by her daughter Jill Watson, parents, grandparents, in-laws Harold and Rosezella Nott, sister Donna Kehne, brother-in-law Ken Kehne, brother-in-law Gary Nott and sister-in-law Janice (William) White. Her husband Richard passed away on March 6, 2026.

A combined service with Richard and Marilyn will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 10:30am at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. Burial will be in the Hooper Cemetery following the lunch. Memorials are suggested to the church or Cedar Bluffs VFD. Combined visitation will be Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel from 3pm to 7pm with the family present 5pm to 7pm.
