Arlene Ann Hilgenkamp, age 84, of Arlington
Died, Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Pathfinder Place in Fremont.

Arlene was born February 2, 1941 in Arlington, Nebraska to Virgil and Betty 'Schlapfer' Frye. She grew up in Arlington and graduated from Arlington High School. On August 14, 1959 she married Darrell Hilgenkamp and they began a life on the farm. Being raised in town she adapted quickly to farm life, she gardened and did lots of canning; she made wonderful homemade meals for her family and baked delicious pies, cookies, desserts etc. She volunteered for years for Habitat for Humanity painting. She also spent many Summers at the Washington Co. Fair helping with the Open class baked goods and canning department.

She loved, traveling with her husband especially cruising the Caribbean as they took 31 cruises together plus many more trips over the years with favorites being Hawaii and Alaska, as well as volunteering over the years for different jobs at the church. She's been described as a firecracker that would usually have a witty, cleaver comeback with whatever you threw at her. And Loved and Adored all her Grandkids and ''Greats''.

Arlene is survived by her husband Darrell, son Cornell (Tanna) Hilgenkamp of Arlington and daughter Sheila Remelius (Randy) of Fremont. Grandchildren: Cody (Lindsay) Moseman, Houston (Janyl) Moseman, Aleasha (Gavin Ireland ) Dryden, Tyler Hilgenkamp , Eric (Tania) Remelius, Michael (Beth) Remelius, Jena (Todd) Camden-Stevens, Ryan (Jaime) Camden, and Emilie (Jeff) Warneking. 18 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandson.

Visitation will be Monday, September 15, 2025 at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel from 4pm to 8pm with the family present 6pm to 8pm. The funeral will be 10:30am, Tuesday, September 16 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church north of Arlington. Burial will follow in the St. Paul's Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the church or Arlington Fire and Rescue.
