Rebecca "Becky" S. Flake

Rebecca S. Flake (Becky) passed away at her home in Alexandria,Virginia on November 13, 2023.
Becky was born in Fremont, Nebraska, on March 3, 1955 and grew up on the family farm outside Herman, NE. She was preceded in death by parents, Darrell and Ruth Flake. As a 'farm girl' she loved all animals, especially the cats and kittens on the farm. She loved art and cooking but her greatest love was books. A prolific reader even as a small child, she was rarely without a fiction book. After graduating from Arlington High School, Becky moved to Virginia in 1974 where she worked at a jewelry store and a bank. In 1977 she joined the FBI and began her career at FBI Headquarters. She worked in the Records Management Division at FBIHQ and retired after 36 years in 2013 achieving the position of Information Management Specialist GS-11. In retirement, Becky enjoyed keeping connected to former coworkers and distant relatives through Facebook, supporting cat rescue organizations, collecting nutcrackers and Legos, and constantly adding to her extensive library of fiction books.
Becky is survived by her siblings, Louis Flake, Ann (Butch Roll), Carol (Tom Murray), Sharon (David Axelrod), and Pamela (Jim Linke), and sister-in-law Susan (Wayne Collins), 11 nephews and nieces, and 14 great nephews and nieces, as well as many beloved friends.

A funeral will be held at Ludvigsen Mortuary on June 19, 2024 at 11 AM, with a lunch following. Graveside will be held at Vacoma Cemetery afterward.
