Nathan Lee Clements
April 8, 1980 - May 6, 2024
Nathan Lee Clements, age 44, of Columbia, MO. died in his home on Monday, May 6th, 2024 from medical complications due to diabetes.
Nathan was born April 8, 1980, in Fremont, NE, to Roger and Wanda (Henry) Clements. He was baptized as a Child of God on May 11, 1980 at First Lutheran Church in Fremont. Nathan grew up in Fremont where he attended grade school and graduated from Fremont High School in 1998. He graduated in 2002 from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. Nathan spent his career in the field of information technology, beginning at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and culminating at Tele-Optics Communication, Inc. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Fremont.
Nathan was married to Allysha Martin in Lincoln and they later divorced.
It was Nathan's love for sports that often brought him and others the most joy. Whether he was reminiscing about his days playing baseball and soccer or passionately following the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Nathan's enthusiasm was contagious. As a young man, Nathan spent countless hours umpiring for the Nighthawk baseball league and playing baseball with his friends. His love of sports inspired his siblings to participate as well. Nathan became an avid student of sports data, storing all of it in his head and reciting it with ease when needed. He had an annual tradition of forming a Fantasy Football team with friends. Nathan also enjoyed planning yearly family outings to watch the Nebraska baseball team.
In addition to his numerous talents, Nathan shared a deep passion for card games with his father, a tradition that ran in the family. He was not just a casual card player; Nathan was exceptionally skilled at poker, possessing an innate ability to read the game and his opponents with remarkable precision. Nathan also had a fondness for playing pitch, a game that requires both skill and strategy, further showcasing his versatile card-playing abilities. Together with his brother, Andrew, the duo became a formidable force at the card table as their understanding of each other's playstyle made them an unstoppable pair.
Nathan loved his family and friends. He spent many hours playing with his nephews on the floor with their favorite trucks and cars. Nathan was a ''big kid'' when he was around them. He went on numerous trips with his friends and enjoyed going to Nebraska Huskers games with friends and family too.
Nathan is survived by his loving mother, Wanda Clements of Fremont; siblings, Andrew (Brooke) Clements of La Vista, Joel (Caroline) Clements of Lincoln, and Joy (Brent) Clark of Omaha; nephews and nieces, Miles, Max, David, Elizabeth Clements and Renee Clark; grandmother, Joan Clements of Blair; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
