Eldon E Schulenberg, age 86, of Hooper Died Saturday, May 06, 2023 at Nye Legacy in Fremont
Eldon was born on April 7, 1937 to Edgar and Helen ''Moeller'' Schulenberg on a farm near Hooper. He grew up in the Scribner/Hooper area. Eldon attended District 16 grade school and graduated from Scribner High School in 1954, and then served in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1957. He had polio in High School and overcame many health issues over the years. Eldon farmed all his life until retirement in 2008 and then moved into Hooper in 2017. He worked for Hoegemeyer Hybrids and was a ringman for Marreel and Associates as well as Olson Pearson Auctioneers for many years. Eldon followed his kids and grandkids ballgames for many years including helping coach from time to time. He loved to play cards, fish, bowl, travel, and have coffee with the guys. Eldon never met a stranger and always shared his sense of humor with all.
Eldon was baptized and confirmed in the Missouri Lutheran faith at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hooper, and also held many jobs in the church. After the closing of St. John's he was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and Pohocco Lutheran Church. He married his high school sweetheart in 1959 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Scribner. His life was blessed with 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Eldon was preceded in death by his parents.
There is no viewing but the family will receive friends Thursday, May 11 from 5:00 to 8:00 at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont. The Celebration of Life service will be Friday, May 12th at 2:00 p.m. also at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont with a flag presentation at the funeral home. Private burial will be in St. John's Cemetery north of Hooper. Memorials may be directed to the family.
