Barbara A. Schroedter

Barbara A. Schroedter, age 82, of West Point
Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family Sunday, February 12, 2023.

Barbara was born in Fremont, Nebraska on November 27, 1940 to Hans and Maxine 'Herre' Nielsen. She graduated from Fremont High School in 1958. Barb went to college at Lincoln School of Commerce. In May of 1960, she married Bill Schroedter. They would have been married 62 years this May. They had five children which Barb raised along with running a daycare. She also filled in at the phone company as a receptionist when needed. Later in life, Barb and her husband Bill started an upholstery business. They made and repaired numerous furniture and items for customers and family.

Barb loved her volunteer work at the hospital and enjoyed the people she worked with. She was a Teammate Mentor. Barb also volunteered at the food pantry and later was in charge of, for several years.

Barb enjoyed playing bridge, family campouts, sewing, baking and trying new recipes, working outside and spending time with friends and family. She has 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren which she was very proud of.

Sister-in-law - Dora (Larry) Aldrich of Estherville, IA.

Son - Dan (Judy) of Fremont and their family
Jessy (Rick) Weaver and daughter Kylie, TJ
Daughter - Sue (Scott) Case of West Point and their family
Brittany (Zach) Weber and their daughter Addison,
Kari (Garrett) Pearson and their children Ryker, Maria and Caselyn, Austin and Gavin
Daughter - Sandy (Mark) DeZeeuw of South Dakota and their family
Ryan (Lindsey) and their children MacKenzie, Ellie, Sophie and Brodie
Derrick and Cassie
Son - Doug (Nancy) Schroedter from West Point

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Bill in 2019, her parents and grandson Jacob DeZeeuw.

There is no viewing but the family will receive friends on Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 5pm to 7pm at Trinity Church (UMC/UCC) in West Point. The Memorial Service will be Friday February 17, 2023 at 2pm also at the church in West Point. Memorials are suggested to the Trinity Church in West Point.
