Bill C. Schroedter age 82, of West Point Died Wednesday May 1, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital
Bill was born on June 25, 1936 in Webster, NE. He grew up on a farm with his mother and grandparents. His father passed away when he was 4 years old. He graduated from North Bend High School, and went on to college at Tarkio, Missouri. After college he was a heavy equipment operator. He then went to be a milkman. He was a member of the Air National Guard. In 1960 he started his career working at Northwestern Bell and worked as a lineman and installer for 38 years. He married his wife of 58 years Barbara Nielsen, on May 27, 1960. Bill spent many years being involved with the Masons and Shriners. He was very active in his church. He enjoyed fishing, camping, wood working, golf and watching his grandchildren grow up and participate in all their sports and activities.
Survivors include Wife Barb of West Point Sister Dora Kay (Larry) Aldrich of Estherville, IA. Son David (Joy) Schroedter of West Point and their family Brent, Justin (Jen Hurtig), Brandon (Megan Kirkpatrick), Jared and Blake Son Dan (Judy) Schroedter of Fremont and their family Jessy (Rick) Weaver and TJ Daughter Sue (Scott) Case of West Point and their family Brittany (Zach) Weber, Kari (Justin Coonce) Case and their children Ryker and daughter Maria, Austin and Gavin Case Daughter Sandy (Mark) Dezeeuw of South Dakota and their family Ryan (Lindsey) DeZeeuw and their children MacKenzie, Ellie, Sophie and Brodie, Derrick (Amanda) DeZeeuw Cassie Dezeeuw Son Doug (Nancy) Schroedter of West Point Sister-in-law Carol (Loren) Kastnek of Omaha Brother-in-law Jerry (Judy) Nielsen of Fremont
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Jacob DeZeeuw.
Visitation with the family will be Thursday, May 2 from 5pm to 7pm at Trinity Church (UMC/UCC) in West Point. The memorial service will be 11am Friday, May 3 also at the church in West Point. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Church in West Point and the Masonic Eastern Star Children's Home in Fremont.
