Mildred E. Sorenson, 87, of Fremont
died Saturday evening , April 29, 2017 at Fremont Health Medical Center.

She was born to Adolph and Alma (Hilbers) Havekost, October 28, 1929, on the family farm in Cuming County near West Point. Her baptism was held in the family home. Later, she was confirmed at St. John's (county line) Lutheran Church. Mildred graduated from Scribner High School, then went to work in the Dodge County Treasurer's Office in Fremont.

On October 9, 1955, Mildred was married at St. John's Ridgely Lutheran Church to Donald R. Sorenson. They made their home in Fremont. She continued working in the County Treasurer's office for a time, then worked a brief time for the Yost, Schafersman, Yost Law Firm. Then she became the bookkeeper for her husband's business, Don Sorenson Electric Co. Her husband was also one of the developers of Lake Ventura.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Don in December of 1995, brother Donald Havekost, sister Delores and husband Lenard Suhr.

brother Milton and wife Bonnie Havekost, Fremont
sister-in-law Dolores Dunker, Omaha

The funeral service will be 10 AM Thursday (May 4th) at Sinai Lutheran Church with Rev. Al Duminy. The committal will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, 3 to 8 PM, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM at the Ludvigsen Mortuary. Memorials are suggested to Sinai Lutheran Church Organ Fund.
