Anita A. Dahl, age 88, of Wahoo, formerly of Scribner
Died Sunday May 27, 2018 at Wahoo Long Term Care.

Anita was born August 24, 1929 on the family farm in rural Dodge County to Fred and Anna 'Poppe' Von Seggern. She was raised on the farm and attended country school through the 8th grade then graduated from Scribner High School. Anita married Kenneth W. Dahl on December 12, 1948 in the St. John's Lutheran Church, Cuming County Line. After their marriage they lived and farmed southwest of Hooper until moving into Scribner.

The couple started and ran Dodge County's first rural Bed and Breakfast called 'The Empty Nest', hosting visitors from many states. Anita also opened and operated 'Nita's Nursery Day Care' for over 10 years. She attended many of her former day care children's graduations and weddings over the years.

Anita was a lifetime and active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, CCL. She was in the choir and taught Sunday and Bible school. She was also involved in the Luther League as a member then sponsor, and a member of the Ladies Aid.

You couldn't come to "Nita's" house without having coffee, rolls, cookies and her famous cherry bars. She was always a gracious hostess.

Sorry I didn't make it to your Mother's visitation or funeral. I had hoped to make it to the funeral but didn't feel well. My thoughts & prayers go out to all of you & your families. Many wonderful memories of your family at Saint John's.
May God continue to watch over all of you & give you comfort.

  2. Chelsea (Ebel) Popken
I was so sorry to return home from vacation tonight to hear that Anita had passed away. I spent many wonderful years at her daycare , where I shared numerous memories of watching The Price is Right, eating Schwan's sherbet push pops, and playing with my friends. Anita's house was always full of love and she, Ken, and Rodney quickly became like family. Anita taught me so many things and she will forever be one of my favorite people.
Prayers to her family, whom she loved and talked about often.
  3. Cindy and Larry Stollberg
Anita was beautiful both inside and out. My boys have such good memories of being at Anita's and getting "Smarties" on Fridays!
Anita was loving to everyone who came through her door. It was such a blessing to have her care for our children.
It was a blessing to simply know her and be loved by her.
It was an honor for her to be the mom of 4 great kids and she was so proud of all of you and her grandchildren.
We are sorry you are hurting.
  4. Lynn & Joleen Wooldrik
Our deepest sympathy to your family on the loss of Anita. We will always be grateful for the wonderful care she gave Danielle and Cody, I still say they are the best they can be because of her and Grandpa Ken. She will be truly missed. Joleen and Lynn
