Donald C. 'Blaze' Bahnsen of Omaha, Nebraska, died on April 18, 2018 at the age of 88.

Donald was born on July 9, 1929 in Kiron, Iowa to Chris and Ester (Larsen) Bahnsen. He grew up in Ida Grove and Council Bluffs, Iowa. He attended Abraham Lincoln High School and Omaha University. He was in the fraternity Pi Kappa Alpha. Donald owned Bahnsen's ski and sport for 49 years. He was an avid skier, boater and tennis player. He played tennis and poker with life long friends. He was part of the Suburban Rotary Club of Omaha. He was also a member of the Capitol Masonic Lodge #3 A.F & A.M.

His father, Chris Bahnsen; his mother, Ester (Larsen) Bahnsen; his sister, Betty Green and his son Chris Bahnsen preceded Donald in death.

Survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Sherri (White) Bahnsen. Children: Kevin Bahnsen; Jeff and (Linn) Bahnsen; Karen Ike; Stephanie and (Mark) Gonsior; Bill Hatcher; Michelle and (Kelly) Gaeth. Seventeen grandchildren.

Masonic Services at 3pm followed by a Celebration of life at 4pm, Friday April 27, 2018, both at Wellington Senior Living followed by a time and share memories with the family. Wellington Senior Living is located at 501 E. Gold Coast Rd., Papillion, NE. 68046.

    Don , you were kind enough to give a young 14 year old kid a job washing boats and working in the store . Because of the opportunity i was able to pay cash for my first new truck at 16 years old . I have used those early work lessons learned through out my entire career ..I think of those wonderful days often , I can not Thank You enough .
