Delwyn L. Hasemann, age 88 of Fremont, Nebraska,
died October 21, 2016, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

Delwyn Lyle Hasemann was born to Herman and Grace (Wooldrik) Hasemann on April 16, 1928 in Scribner, Nebraska. He passed away October 21, 2016, surrounded by his family, at the age of 88 years. He attended grade school at District 35 Dodge County and graduated from Scribner High School in 1946. He served in the Army during the Korean War in 1951 and 1952, stationed with the 24th Infantry Division in Korea and Japan. He was a member of the American Legion Post #121 of Scribner. He was proud to be a veteran and to serve his country.

On June 12, 1955, Delwyn married Anita Popken at St. Paul's Lutheran Church near Hooper. The couple made their home west of Scribner and began farming. He was an officer of East Central Pork Producers for many years. Delwyn was very proud to be a farmer and enjoyed sharing his experience with the next generation.

Delwyn was a patient, kind-hearted family man who had a passion for polka music, Husker Football, traveling and playing cards. He made many friends over the years traveling to polka festivals and visiting with his card club and Army buddies. He also enjoyed his license plate collection and was a talented woodworker, making crosses, quilt racks and even repurposing old console televisions into china hutches. He was a faithful Christian, teaching Sunday school for several years while in high school and hardly ever missed a Sunday in church. Above all, Delwyn was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Family always came first and was very important to him. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren and was especially excited to meet his first great-grandchild, a baby girl born in early October. Delwyn had a big heart and made all close to him feel very special. You will be missed. We love you.
