Kenneth was born November 26, 1924 on the family farm southwest of Hooper. He was raised there, baptized and confirmed at United Lutheran in Scribner and graduated from Scribner High School. Kenneth was part of Scribner's first team to go to the state basketball tournament. After high school Kenneth enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He received a citation from President Truman for his service in Okinawa. He was also involved in the occupation of China. After his military service Kenneth returned to Scribner. He married Anita Von Seggern on December 12, 1948 at St. John Lutheran Church, Cuming County Line. After their marriage he farmed on his family farm southwest of Hooper. While on the farm the couple operated the "Empty Nest" bed and breakfast. Eventually they retired and moved into Scribner.

Kenneth was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, CCL, teaching Sunday School and serving on the church council along with many other duties. He belonged to the Lutheran Brotherhood, was very involved with the Men in Mission and was a member of the Scribner American Legion Post 121 of Scribner. Kenneth was a former member of the VFW Post in Hooper

On November 10, 2012 former Private First Class Kenneth Dahl served as Gate Sentinel for the Nebraska vs. Penn St. game in Lincoln representing the United States Marine Corps.

Kenneth was preceded in death by an infant daughter Cynthia and sister Ardelle Poppe.

The funeral will be Monday, 10:30am at St. John Lutheran Church, Cuming County Line. The Rev. Janice Heidlberger will officiate. Memorials are suggested to the church. Military Honors will be conducted at the Church immediately following the service. Private burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be Sunday from 2pm to 7pm with the family present from 2pm to 5pm at Ludvigsen's Scribner Funeral Chapel.
