I served in the armed forces.
Robert E. Griffiths age 85, of Fremont,
died at home Thursday Febr. 19th.

He was born Nov. 30, 1929 in Marysville, Kansas to Robert R. and Hilma (Westburg) Griffiths. He graduated from Frankfort High School in Frankfort, Kansas. He was married to Twila Duensing on September 2, 1956.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He graduated from Kansas State University in 1959. Following graduation he worked sales at various agriculture related companies. The family lived in Florida for a few years and then returned to Fremont where he worked for Holdem Company and later became a manufacturing representative. He loved baseball and was active in youth baseball in Fremont for five decades, including his stint as the general manager of the Fremont Merchants baseball team for 17 years.

Robert was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Robert was preceded in death by nephews Ward Piehler and Robert Brower, and by niece Cheryl Brower.

The funeral service will be 11 AM Monday (Febr. 23rd) at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dr. David Coe. The committal will follow in Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors by the Fremont Honor Guard. Memorials are suggested to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and the American Cancer Society. Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary will be on Sunday, Febr. 22nd, from 2 to 6 PM.
